Pottery Basics 2: Intermediate Class Monday 6pm May

The Pottery Basics Class meets May 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th from 6pm-8pm

Cost: $210

Recommended Ages 10+

Requirement: Completion of Pottery Basics I.

Take your basic throwing skills to the next level with this in-depth look at functional forms.

What makes a mug your favorite or a bowl easy to clean and keep for years to come? We will focus on good form and function of bowls, cups, mugs and handles as well as throwing taller, texturing, and trimming.

You’ll then unify it all by glazing your finished pieces on week 4.

The cost of the class will include all material as well as additional lab time either before or after class time.

This three four week class will build on the techniques taught in Pottery Basics I. 

Week 1: review of centering and working with larger amounts of clay

Week 2: lidded pieces

Week 3: teapots

Week 4: glazing

The Pottery Basics Class meets on August 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th at 6pm.

Recommended Ages 10+

This four week class is designed for students that have taken the Pottery Basics I course as well as more advanced potters.  We will be covering lidded pieces, pieces with spouts, small mouth pieces, and any other more advanced techniques that were not covered in Pottery Basics 1.  The last class will be a glazing class held at our teaching studio.  We will also cover how to load kilns.

The cost of the class will include all material as well as additional lab time either before or after class time.
